17/11/08 Buffet to raise funds for Headway Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland the local branch of the Headway Brain Injury Association. The evening raised around £600 from ticket sales and a well supported raffle and silent auction added considerably to that total.

3/11/08 Fundraising for school in Bangladesh.
Almost 90 people supported this curry evening to raise funds for pre-school education in Khasdobir in the district of Sylhet, Bangladesh. The school educates around 1,200 children under the age of six.
The fundraisers have supported the school since Government funding was removed in 1995 and several members make frequent trips to the area.

Lodge No 9158 raised £415 for the Masonic Festival Fund

fund is for the Masonic charities concerned with looking after old people. The fundraising will be over a period of 5 years and has a target of raising

15 September Buffet to raise funds for a Kilimanjaro trek in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care
charity.
The Marie Curie Cancer Care charity
provides high quality nursing totally free, to give terminally ill people
the choice of dying at home supported by their families. Your local Marie
Curie Hospice actively promotes quality of life for people with cancer and
provides support for their families. The services are completely free to
patients.
World class scientists at the Marie Curie Research Institute are
investigating how cancer develops to find better ways of treating the
disease in the future.

11 August 2008. Another full house raised funds for projects in Ghana. The group is raising a total of £40,000 to help fund a borehole and two schools in Kumasi and Obuasi.

14 July 2008 Fundraising buffet for a student ministry centre in Bolivia's largest city, Santa Cruz. Another full house raised around £1,900 from ticket sales and a popular silent auction.
The evening was organised by Graham and Debbie Frith on behalf of the SIM organisation which spreads the word of God all around the world. T he funds will be used to build the El Alfarero Student Centre which will be a self-financing student ministry centre and interdenominational ministry, at a total cost of over $1.1m.

Another very successful evening at Cuisine of India saw a full house in support of Cancer Research UK.
Over 90 guests enjoyed the buffet and bought many tickets for the impressive raffle. Around £1,000 was raised from ticket sales and the raffle. Photo album»

LOROS was again the beneficiary of an evening organised by Steph Walkinshaw of Arnesby. The usual delicious buffet was followed by a high quality raffle which doubled the money that had been raised from ticket sales. Prizes included several items of sporting memorabilia. Billy Walkinshaw won the best prize - a signed Leicester Tigers shirt. Over £1,000 was raised during the evening.

Another well attended charity buffet at Cuisine of India raised around £950 for LOROS. Organised by Mick and Myra Haggerty the buffet was followed by a raffle and an auction of signed sporting memorabilia.

ITU Stroke unit of the Leicester General Hospital.
The event, organised by Linda Crane, was
attended by over 80 people. Around £1,000 was raised from ticket
sales, a donation from the restaurant and a raffle.
